Candidate Admission Criteria

Right to Submit an Application

Candidates are eligible for admission to the IDS program if they hold a secondary education qualification (High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate) that grants them access to Higher Education institutions in their country of graduation and belong to one of the following categories:

Category 1
Graduates of Foreign High Schools

Graduates of high schools or equivalent institutions physically located abroad. Applicants must have completed full-time attendance in the final two (2) grades of high school abroad and hold a high school diploma or equivalent qualification granting admission to HEIs in that country.

Category 2
Foreign Schools in Greece

Graduates of recognized foreign schools of EU member states or third countries legally operating in Greece, following the curriculum of the respective foreign country, provided that: a) The applicants and their parents do not hold Greek citizenship. b) They have completed full-time attendance in at least the final two (2) high school grades.

Category 3
Foreign University Transfers

Students of foreign Higher Education Institutions who hold the certification provided by par. 1 of Article 314A of Law 4957/2022. The application and required documentation are submitted to the Secretariat in physical/electronic form or via the Electronic Registration Information System of the Ministry of Education.

Degree Validity Time Limit

Applicants must have obtained their high school diploma or equivalent secondary education qualification within five (5) years prior to the date of submitting their candidacy to the IDS program.

Academic Benchmarks

As a minimum formal qualification for entry into the Program, possession of a Secondary Education Graduation Certificate with an Analytical Transcript or an equivalent qualification of internationally recognized equivalence is required.

Acceptable qualifications include the Greek High School Diploma, A Levels (3 subjects), the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, or BTEC qualifications. Candidates must meet at least one of the adjacent minimum grade requirements.

English Language Proficiency Requirement

A certified knowledge of the English language at a minimum level of B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - CEFR) is an essential prerequisite for enrollment in the IDS program.

Accepted Certificates & Minimum Scores:
  • 🔹 TOEFL iBT Score ≥ 72
  • 🔹 IELTS Academic Score ≥ 5.5
  • 🔹 FCE / ECCE (Cambridge / Michigan) Level ≥ B2
  • 🔹 Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic Score ≥ 59
  • 🔹 Duolingo English Test (DET) Score ≥ 100
  • 🔹 Password English Language Test Score ≥ 6
  • 🔹 IGCSE English Score ≥ C
  • 🔹 International Baccalaureate (IB) – English Score ≥ 5
💡 Exemptions from submitting an English certificate:
  • ✔ Citizens of countries where English is the official language and who have completed secondary education in English.
  • ✔ Holders of a higher education degree from an English-taught program lasting at least one (1) full academic semester.
